After Work Walk @ Vaughan Woods in South Berwick, ME with Optional Dinner After

Details

Let's go for an after work walk at Vaughan Woods Memorial Park. This is an easy walking trail through a beautiful stretch of woods. It always reminds me of Alaska with the old growth pines and the tidal river view. The trail is rocks and roots and runs along the Salmon Falls River. There is also an old colonial house, and we can explore the gardens and grounds there. This will be a 2-3 mile loop that took me an hour when I did it. It can get a little buggy sometimes, so consider bringing some bug spray. I should have a can as well. I'm keeping this to a lower limit so we can be more mobile (No guests, please)

*** Please ONLY RSVP if you can make it by 5PM. I am looking to start walking at 5PM. I'll be there around 4PM, so feel free to show up early. We can't wait past 5PM because the gate to the main parking lot locks at 7PM, and some people may be parking in the lower lot. I want to give us plenty of time so no one's car gets locked in. The park staffer I called said they are understaffed, so he confirmed that they do lock the gate @7PM.

There is some parking outside the gate by the road, which I would highly suggest parking at first, but this is a popular spot, and there are only a few spaces outside the gate that might be full. If that's the case, just drive through the gate and park at the lower lot, which has ample parking. They have a donation system for parking, but I'll just cover our group on that, no worries.

Here's the address:
28 Oldfields Rd, South Berwick, ME 03908

So, after our walk, we could head into Eliot (Shipyard Brewery can be a placeholder), South Berwick, Dover, or wherever the group decides for some dinner. I'm down for wherever the group wants--and if you guys just want to call it a day after the walk-- that's also cool. Just an option.

We can meet at the park entrance gate until everyone arrives and start hiking by 5PM. This will be a rain or shine event (unless it's lightning). Bring water, appropriate attire, good shoes for hiking, and whatever you need to feel comfortable. The trail is mostly through the woods, so even if it happens to be raining, the trees should keep most of it off us.

If you have any medical conditions or allergies that you think I should know about, feel free to message me discreetly.

Message me with any questions or concerns.

I hope to see you there!
