Exclusive Book Launch & Presentation

Details

~Both dive club members & guests welcome~

We're thrilled to announce that Jill Heinerth, one of the most celebrated divers in the world, is launching her new book at the New York City Sea Gypsies' August meeting! Published by HarperCollins, "Into the Planet" (www.intotheplanet.com) details a firsthand account of exploring the earth’s final frontier: the hidden depths of our oceans & the sunken caves inside our planet. Join us to hear Jill speak about her explorations, her book, & her life as she kicks off her North American book tour with the NYC Sea Gypsies!

Come early to enjoy a happy hour with Jill as well beginning at 5:30PM.

Famed independent book store, Strand Book Store, will also be on site selling the book which Jill will be signing both during the happy hour & at the meeting.

More people have walked on the moon than have been to some of the places Jill Heinerth has explored right here on earth. Jill is a veteran of over 30 years of filming, photography, & exploration on projects in submerged caves around the world with National Geographic, NOAA, various educational institutions, & television networks worldwide. She is the inaugural Explorer in Residence for the Royal Canadian Geographical Society, recipient of Canada’s prestigious Polar Medal, & the diving world’s highest award from the Academy of Underwater Arts and Sciences, the NOGI.

TUES., AUG. 20 AT THE PRESS BOX - 932 2nd Ave.

5:30-7PM: Happy Hour with Jill Heinerth

7-9:30PM: Club Meeting & Presentation by Jill Heinerth
Upstairs on the 2nd floor

Special thanks to our club president, Joseph Sferrazza, & board member, Renata Rojas, for arranging this exclusive event for the NYC Sea Gypsies.

Side note: This event is posted in a variety of forums so the guest list is larger than what is shown here.
