🌊 Guest Speaker: Explorer, writer, and historian Steven Schwankert has spent decades uncovering hidden stories beneath the waves of China and beyond. A Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and The Explorers Club, he founded SinoScuba, Beijing’s first professional dive operation, and led the first expedition into Mongolia’s Lake Khovsgol, discovering long-lost wrecks.
He is the author of The Six: The Untold Story of the Titanic’s Chinese Survivors and Poseidon: China’s Secret Salvage of Britain’s Lost Submarine, works that blend investigative research with adventure. For his talk, Steven will take us diving through China’s extraordinary underwater sites - from the Underwater Great Wall and sunken Lion City to offshore wrecks and vast cave systems — revealing why China is one of the world’s great, yet largely unexplored, destinations for diverse.
