About our Presenter:
Duane Murphy, M.Photog, C.Photog, 5 time president of Professional Photographers of Orange County 3x Photographer of the Year Orange County, 2x Commercial Photographer of the year, 3 time Pet Photographer of the year and 2 Time Portrait Photographer of the year, Orange County CA Best in Category. Producing the 6th Annual Segerstrom Shelby Calendar.

Duane started his career as an IT Consultant who decided he wanted to come home and have dinner with is family. He specialized in Data Communications and Data Recovery. After aborting another family trip for work he decided enough was enough. People always said he should charge for his work. So that’s what he did, and thus Great American Portraits™ was born. Duane has spent his time photographing Pets and People and has never looked back, well not until the blending of Politics, Economy and good Old Fashioned accounting.

Photographic specialties: Empowerment, Pets and Commercial (Segerstrom Shelby Car Calendar)

Why Photography: So I can help people celebrate their resilience and unique talents through my photography, so that their personal achievements can inspire and encourage those around them to embrace their potential, recognizing every effort and nurturing every talent they have (and often overlook) to uplift the world around us.

The value of photography has nothing to do with pictures, it has everything to do with the value we help people connect to those pictures.

Duane is based in Santa Ana California and works mostly around Southern CA. When not behind the camera he enjoys teaching others about the art and principals of the business of photography.

When he’s not teaching or in studio he enjoys building Train Diroama’s and fussing after his two totally ungrateful rabbits Ewok and PeanutButter.
