FAQ's

How will the yarn swap work?

  • If you're bringing yarn, please arrive by 4:15
  • All attendees will receive a shopping bag to fill
  • Those who bring in yarn will be the first to "shop" the stash, followed by the remaining attendees
  • Shoppers are encouraged to make deliberate picks and be mindful of others
  • Any unclaimed yarn will go home with the person who brought it

What are the yarn guidelines for the swap?

  • Please bring whole, clean skeins that have labels attached.
  • Limit what you bring to what could fit in one small tote bag.

Can I participate in the swap if I don't bring yarn?
Yes! While folks who bring yarn will get a first pass at the yarn stash, all attendees will have a chance to take something home.

Do I have to buy a ticket to participate in Afro Stitch Club events?
Nope! That said, many of our events take place at local businesses and we ask that you support them directly, (for example, purchasing coffee or tea at a meetup hosted at a cafe), if possible.

What if I can't stay the full time?
No worries! You're free to show up later, leave early, or just stop by to say hey. Please note that the yarn swap will end by 5pm to give us time to eat, drink, and craft.

I want to join but don't know how to knit or crochet.
We can teach you, just let us know in advance! Materials will be provided.

What if I don't have a project to work on?
It's a social, so stop on by anyway!
