Hike historic fire lookouts, kayak, camp and make new friends @North Cascades

Come join us on a relaxing weekend at a pristine sub-alpine lake, surrounded by old growth forest with has breathtaking views of snowcapped Mt Baker. We will be camping by Baker Lake. It's the jewel of the Mt Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest in Washington State.

Below is group plan for the weekend -
Friday - Start at around 2-3PM for the campground. Setup camp, cook dinner and share our adventure stories over s'mores.
Saturday - Relax at camp, and kayak around Baker Lake. Catch the sunset on Baker Lake. Those planning to kayak, please bring your own. There are no rentals at the campsite. Folks who don't wanna kayak can group up and explore/hike around Mt Baker or just relax by the lake. Quite a few of us will have kayaks, so you can take turns too.
Sunday - Wrap up camp, hike Park Butte Fire Lookout. (Moderate Hike. 7.2 miles 2K elevation gain https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/washington/park-butte-lookout-trail) This popular hike brings you to an historic fire lookout with amazing panoramic views of the North Cascades.

This event will be free ! We will be placing everyone in waitlist for now. Me and some of our cohosts will be going mid week to get the camp spots. Depending on how many spots we manage to get, we will set the limits

CARPOOLING IS ENCOURAGED We will use our chat groups to arrange for rides, finalize hikes, plan and prep for meal preparations.

We generally cook together on our camping trips. We will be planning the details for this our chat group. For those cooking together, we will calculate the cost, collect money accordingly and split responsibility before the trip.
