6:00 to 6:30 Authorization in Apache Kafka
Speaker: Ashish Singh@Cloudera
Reliable, high-rate ingestion of data from a large variety of sources is the first step toward answering big analytical questions, and Apache Kafka, a scalable publish-subscribe messaging system, is a popular choice for this goal. With the increasing adoption of Kafka, security has become more important than ever. In this talk, Ashish Singh will review recent advancements made in Kafka towards closing security gaps, and discuss how addition of pluggable authorization in Kafka has enabled Apache Sentry (incubating) to provide an enterprise-grade, fine-grained, role-based authorization in Kafka.
6:30 to 7:00 Near real time Bing search log processing with Kafka, Spark and SQL
Speakers: Wei Lu & Xavier Drudis Rius, Microsoft
Each day there are millions of users querying Bing search engine and generating hundreds of terabytes of search logs. The ability of analyzing very large and very fast search log streams in near-real-time manner is becoming the game changer for the search business. In this talk, we will brief how we integrate Kafka, SPARK and STRIPE SQL to enable the near-real-time search log analytics for various user scenarios.
Location, food and drinks sponsored by Microsoft.
