Boba Discussion on Asian American History and Identity

Details
This support group is about helping other Asian Americans reconnect with their culture & heritage right here in the good ol' USofA.
Believe it or not we have a rich history and identity here but most of us just don't know about it.
I want to talk about Asian American topics primarily as I see a lot of Asians here attempting to connect their identities through international mediums that really just don't reflect who they are and end up being disappointed...we all can't be K-pop stars & that cosplay thing can probably get you committed. But we can keep it open and talk about other stuff as well like K-pop, J culture, Mandopop etc. or whatever comes to mind.
The meetings structure for now
1. Grab some Boba (not required) and find a seat
2. Start with a personal introduction about yourself and what it means to be Asian American. If you can also demonstrate some knowledge of Asian American stuff like a favorite book or movie or family connections (like my grandfather was in the 442nd or volunteering at the Temple in Skyway) that would be helpful
3. Move onto Asian American Media (Crazy Rich Asians, Flower Drum Song) and discuss differences between Asian American and Asian pop culture.
Just a little bit about me I was an Asian American Studies major in college a really long time ago. Depending on how things go we can have movie viewing nights, literature discussions and field trips around Chinatown/Id and other cultural sites. We can even organize a trip to California the Asian America Mecca. All backgrounds are welcome. Hope to see you there.
