What we’re about
Seattle Board Games supports a vibrant and inclusive community of board game enthusiasts in the Seattle metro area. Our events and gatherings offer opportunities to have fun, make friends, and deepen our appreciation for the art, design, and strategy of board games. We seek to make games more accessible by removing barriers to enjoying and learning from them.
Annual Fundraising Update (12/12/2025): WE DID IT!! We reached our $1,075 goal today! At the Steering Committee's next meeting, we will plan Seattle Board Game's 2026 game day. Look for more news about this in February.
We host all types of boardgames, from lighter games such as Settlers of Catan and Lords of Waterdeep to heavier Euros like Brass Birmingham, Dune Imperium, and others. We also play thematic games such as Battlestar Galactica, social deduction games like Blood on the Clocktower, Magic the Gathering, card games, and party games. If it's on BoardGameGeek's list of over 25,000 games, we might be playing it!
We have a Discord! Connect with hundreds of other local board game fans, set up game sessions, play online, and be the first to know about some events before they're announced on Meetup! This link will lead you there!
Anyone can become an event organizer and host events - either specific games or open gaming sessions. If you are interested, please contact the primary organizer.
We are member and organizer driven, and welcome suggestions for improvements and new directions.

Let’s Play Saint Malo! @Anchorhead Coffee!
Anchorhead Coffee & Bakery, 1115 12th Ave, Seattle, WA, USCan you build the most prosperous city and keep it safe from pirates? You are a clever city leader trying to build up your city. Building Churches to bring in priests, hiring architects to build up the city to attract citizens, merchants, and even nobles. And don’t forget to keep an eye on the pirates, who attack the city time and time again. It is best to have built enough city walls and also to have one or more soldiers available to help defend.
Saint Malo uses Dice Rolling, Line Drawing, & Re-rolling and Locking. Players roll five dice to gain various resources; combinations of dice create enhancements like characters or buildings, which can provide additional victory points, money, or special actions, such as altering the outcome of a die roll. Players draw symbols for their holdings on erasable boards showing a grids of their cities to create individual towns. Players could build storehouses on particular squares, for example, then place a merchant nearby to gain money each turn. Another important character is the soldier; players must acquire these to defend themselves from pirate attacks that can decimate their towns.
New players are welcome, and the host is happy to teach if you haven't played before.
2 - 5 players
45 minutes expected play time, depending on turnout and player familiarity.

Last-minute cancellations (less than 24 hours), no-shows, and late arrivals (30+ minutes) without good reason will be marked as no-show for the event and will be automatically moved to the waitlist if one forms for any and all future events they join which are hosted by me and other select hosts!
- SUPPORT THE VENUE! - Purchasing something isn't a requirement, but it's nice to do since we're using the space. Please support the business if you can!
- I open signups on Wednesday, 3 days before pressing the "announce" button here on Meetup; if you want to have the opportunity to claim a seat early, you can join the SBG Discord, where I'll post to let users there know as soon as RSVPs open as well as updates and posting polls for future meetups!

Let’s Play Notre Dame! @Anchorhead Coffee!
Anchorhead Coffee & Bakery, 1115 12th Ave, Seattle, WA, USWelcome to 14th Century Paris. You are the head of an influential family vying for prosperity and reputation. To advance your position you will need to gain power and prestige by improving your borough, enlisting the help of friends and important people throughout Paris and also supporting the grand cathedral of Notre Dame at the heart of the city. But of course you are not the only family in Paris trying to via for influence. Turn after turn, round after round, family heads must make choices that can have major implications. If you do one thing, then the another can't be done. Concentrating on one aspect means automatically ignoring another, which, above all others, is particularly dangerous in the case of the gradually approaching plague...
Notre Dame is a Card Drafting, Area Control, Point to Point Movement type game. The players take on the roles of the heads of influential families in Paris at the end of the 14th century. Each family controls one of the 3–5 boroughs that surround the site of Notre Dame. Each family head tries, through clever use of his action cards, to advance the power and prestige of his family, but penalties are assessed on those who do not take care of the health of the people who live in their borough. The player with the most prestige at the end is the winner
New players are welcome, and the host is happy to teach if you haven't played before.
