Let’s Play Cuzco! @Anchorhead Coffee!
Details
You are great Inca dignitaries, fighting for political supremacy in the Andes. You must exploit the new, still virgin territory of Moray, north of Cuzco, a vast region between forests and mountains, to found the new bases of your civilization. You must irrigate the soil and plant innovative food crops in circular terraces. Build Villages, then transform them into Cities by building Temples. Then expand the Temples, and organize ever grander Festivals in honor of the Sun God. Because each of you is acting in
your own interests, you must make the most of every opportunity offered by this territory of the Cuzco region by developing it fully, while taking advantage of others’ achievements, as well. Whoever earns the most Prestige will be designated Emperor.
Cuzco uses Action Points, Area Influence, Auction, Hand Management, Tile Placement, & Zone of Control. You are a tribe of Incans who fight for control of the terrain by standing on the tallest space, all which is constructed by players throughout the course of the game. During a player's turn, they may use Action Points (AP) to do a number of different actions: Play a terrain or water tile, move an Incan, construct a temple, draw cards or throw a festival. Terrain tiles are divided into hexes, which have either town, fields or water spaces all of which behave slightly differently and can be stacked. You also may build temples which turn the towns spaces into cities, can throw festivals, and score points at the end of the game depending on their size. To score points for water tiles or to build temples, players have to have majority control of the area. The game end is triggered when one player uses the last large terrain tile, in which players will get one last turn to try and stand atop the tallest tile in a city. The player with the most points at the end of the game wins.
New players are welcome, and the host is happy to teach if you haven't played before.

(Don't worry, we'll go over the rules on the day, too.)
A few important details:
- The event space is in the basement and there are only stairs (no elevator) if you have mobility issues keep this in mind.
- This event is scheduled to start at 1:00 PM PLEASE be on time! If you would like to bring a guest please message me.
- It's Cap/First Hill/Seattle U, so parking can be a challenge. Please factor traffic & parking into your commute and if you will be late post in messages or the Discord. Anchorhead is only a few blocks from the First Hill Streetcar (Broadway & Pike/Pine or Broadway & Marion) and the #2 and #12 bus lines.
- If you need to cancel please do so as soon as you know. People on the waitlist and playing that day will appreciate it! Signing up for this event means other people are counting on you to attend; board games have both a minimum and a maximum player count, so with limited seats available, I want to be sure that those seats actually have people in them. Last-minute cancellations (less than 24 hours), no-shows, and late arrivals (30+ minutes) without good reason will be marked as no-show for the event and will be automatically moved to the waitlist if one forms for any and all future events they join which are hosted by me and other select hosts!
- SUPPORT THE VENUE! - Purchasing something isn't a requirement, but it's nice to do since we're using the space. Please support the business if you can!
- I open signups on Wednesday, 3 days before pressing the "announce" button here on Meetup; if you want to have the opportunity to claim a seat early, you can join the SBG Discord, where I'll post to let users there know as soon as RSVPs open as well as updates and posting polls for future meetups!
