Let’s Play SCYTHE @Phoenix Comics & Games!
Details
"As a man sow, shall he reap. And I know that talk is cheap. But the heat of the battle is as sweet as the victory."
It is a time of unrest in 1920s Europa. The ashes from the first great war still darken the snow. It is a time of farming and war, broken hearts and rusted gears, innovation and valor. The capitalistic city-state known simply as “The Factory”, which fueled the war with heavily armored mechs, has closed its doors, drawing the attention of several nearby countries.
Scythe uses Area Majority, End Game Bonuses, King of the Hill, Movement Points, Tech Tracks, Variable Player Powers, Victory Points as a Resource, & Zone of Control. You are a leader of one of seven factions of Europe who are attempting to earn their fortune and claim their faction's stake in the land around the mysterious Factory. Each leader begins the game with different resources (power, coins, combat acumen, and popularity), a different starting location, and a hidden goal. Players will conquer territory, enlist new recruits, reap resources, gain villagers, have various encounters, build structures, and activate monstrous mechs.
The games is a strategic Engine Builder with strong tactical choices, which also incorporates some combat (but not as much as it looks like it does).
New players are welcome, and the host is happy to teach if you haven't played before.
2 - 7 players
60-120 minutes expected play time, depending on turnout and player familiarity.

A few important details:
- This event is scheduled to start at 1:00 PM PLEASE be on time! If you would like to bring a guest please message me.
- It's Cap Hill, so parking can be a challenge. Please factor traffic & parking into your commute and if you will be late post in messages or the Discord. Phoenix Comics & Games is about a block from several bus lines, the First Hill Streetcar (Broadway & Denny), & the Capitol Hill light rail station.
- If you need to cancel please do so as soon as you know. People on the waitlist and playing that day will appreciate it! Signing up for this event means other people are counting on you to attend; board games have both a minimum and a maximum player count, so with limited seats available, I want to be sure that those seats actually have people in them. Last-minute cancellations (less than 24 hours), no-shows, and late arrivals (30+ minutes) without good reason will be marked as no-show for the event and will be automatically moved to the waitlist if one forms for any and all future events they join which are hosted by me and other select hosts!
- SUPPORT THE VENUE! - Purchasing something isn't a requirement, but it's nice to do since we're using the space. Please support the business if you can!
- I open signups on Wednesday, 3 days before pressing the "announce" button here on Meetup; if you want to have the opportunity to claim a seat early, you can join the SBG Discord, where I'll post to let users there know as soon as RSVPs open as well as updates and posting polls for future meetups!
