CROKINOLE @ The Loot Table

A traditional two- or four-player dexterity game, Crokinole is played on a circular wooden board with 3 rings and an inner recessed 'bullseye'. A ring of posts is set around the inner circle, which functions as an obstacle to reach this area. Playing pieces are wooden circular disks similar to checkers pieces. Players take turns shooting disks across the board by flicking them with their fingers in an effort to land them in the highest scoring ring on the board, the highest score achieved by shooting a disk into the centre, recessed hole.

Crokinole is a low-complexity action/dexterity game involving light elements of area control. Individual matches are fairly short, but typically many matches are played in succession. New players are welcome, and the host is happy to teach if you haven't played before.

2-4 players per game
30 minutes expected play time per game, depending on turnout and player familiarity. The end time for this event is purposely imprecise; we'll play until we don't want to anymore or the venue closes, whichever comes first.

A few important details:

• The Loot Table Cafe is a newly-opened gaming space in Capitol Hill, near Cal Anderson Park. It is not a game store and is sustained by players paying directly for the use of the space itself; therefore there is a non-negotiable table fee of $10 per person due upon arrival. That fee allows you the use of the space for the entire day until the space closes at 11:00 PM, so feel free to come in early if you like!
• It's Cap Hill, so parking can be a challenge. Sorry, it's a walking neighborhood! The Loot Table is less than a block from the First Hill Streetcar, very close to several bus lines, and within walking distance of the Capitol Hill light rail station, though.
• I open signups for most of my events 1-3 days before pressing the "announce" button here on Meetup; if you want to know about that when it happens and have the opportunity to claim a seat before others, you can join the Seattle Board Games Discord server, where I'll post to let users there know as soon as RSVPs open!
