It's time to duel! For this event I am planning on bringing and hosting a variety of different 2 player games for up to 6 players.
You and your opponent(s) may pick from the following list:
7 wonders duel
Lord of the Rings duel
Splendor Duel
Santorini
Agent Avenue
Hive
Or whatever 2p game you want to bring as long as you don't mind teaching

I'm trying a bit of a different system to get these two player games to the table. The solution I've landed on is to use an ELO rating system.
We will all start out at 1500 ELO. As you play games against your opponents you will lose or gain points to your ELO rating depending on whether or not you win lose or draw. Whoever has the highest ELO rating at the end of the night is considered the winner.
This allows for a flexibility of games and opponents without being constrained by a tournament system. Also allowing flexibility if players want to join late or leave early. Also I think using an ELO rating can tie the games together so it feels like every game counts towards a coherent goal.

Phoenix looks like it's open labor day, so if you don't already have any labor day plans, feel free to join!
