Introduction to 2-over-1 for Standard American Bidders

If you already play Bridge, using the Standard American bidding system, you've probably been asked "Do you play 2-over-1?"

In this set of four lessons, we'll discuss some common agreements used by many 2-over-1 players, including (in no particular order):

• The principle of fast arrival
• The wide-ranging (and forcing!) 1NT response to an opening bid of 1 of a major
• The 2-over-1 response as a natural game-forcing bid
• Inverted minor suit raises
• 1-over-1 responses that might hide a major-suit holding
• Invitational raises by a passed hand
• Jump shift responses

This set of lessons is experimental, so you get my "guinea pig" rate of $10 per person per lesson. Cash, card, and tap payments are all accepted, and collected one lesson at a time.

Location: Seattle Bridge Center, 1539 NE 145th St, Seattle. We are at the south side of the parking lot we share with a QFC supermarket and a Dollar Tree store.

Dates & Times: Thurday evenings 8/26, 9/3, 9/10, and 9/17, from 7pm to 9pm or so.
