What we’re about
This group is for students of Mandarin Chinese. Native speakers and advanced students are more than welcome. We'll strive to balance speaking in Mandarin Chinese with speaking about Mandarin Chinese. You are welcome whether you are a casual hobbyist or a full-time student. This group is a social group focused on language learning, cultural enrichment, and language exchange.
Unsolicited Messages - Writing people on Meetup whom you haven't met is against our policies. Meetup is for meeting people at events. If you receive a message from somebody you haven't met or experience anything that makes you uncomfortable, please let the leadership team know. We want to ensure everyone feels safe, welcome, and comfortable.
Harassment - This group does not tolerate sexual harassment or other forms of harassment. Please do not come to this group expressly looking for a date. If you meet someone you like at an event, that's fine. Please be respectful of any cultural differences.
Discrimination - This group welcomes all Chinese learners and Chinese speakers regardless of nationality, race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, etc.

We will be having a potluck MidAutumn Festival Picnic at Magnuson Park on Sept 21 from 3:00PM until 9:30PM. We will be at Picnic Tables #6 and #7 near the Parking Lot E4 and the swimming beach. There will be a small grill, possibly shared with other groups.
Please RSVP and indicate what you will bring on the spreadsheet linked on Line and wechat in our groups chats. This will allow us to coordinate and have a good variety of food and all needed utensils. We will need one person to volunteer to be grill master - bringing charcoal, lighter fluid, a ligher and tongs and responsible for starting and tending the fire in the grill(s),
What are you bringing to the Mid-Autumn Potluck Picnic? Please write in the group hat document. kit here, even if you're not quite sure, that way we don't wind up with five durians when one or two will suffice.
This is the same place as last year although because it is later in the year the moonrise is a bit earlier. Hopefully we won't have a lot of smoke and will be able to see the moonrise this year.
