Mandarin Corner - Reading Room

We use the website Chairman's Bao to provide the material for this call. The website will be shared during the call so you do not need your own subscription. We will be reading passages extracted from current newspaper articles at a level of HSK 3 and HSK 4. We will takes turns reading the sentences in Chinese and translating after reviewing a vocabulary list. Then we will listen to a native speaker read the passage and finally we will again read the article focusing on improved smoothness of our reading.

If you are studying independently, this is a great opportunity to talk with other learners and share notes. If you're looking for a structured activity, we recommend that you attend our third Tuesday events.

We make a conscious effort to balance talking about Mandarin with speaking the language. We learn the most through practice and feedback. It's the most fun to learn with other people.
