Weather forecast says sunny on Saturday around Leavenworth, so let’s head out to visit beautiful Colchuck Lake.
Note that there may be still snow near and around the lake, so hiking poles, Microspikes and waterproof boots will be useful. We’ll stop for something to eat in Leavenworth after the hike.

Directions: We will meet under the overpass at Eastgate park and Ride. Bring some cash to cover the car pool fee. 15 cents per mile is suggested for riders.
Note: A Northwest Forest Pass is required to park at the trail head.
From milepost 99 on US 2, on the western edge of Leavenworth, follow the paved Icicle Creek Road (Forest Road 76) for 8.4 miles, turning left onto Eightmile Road (FR 7601). Continue on this washboarded dirt road for 3.8 miles to a large parking lot and the trailhead (elev. 3400 ft).
