Spend the first Saturday of July in a nice air-conditioned library meeting room, and watch a documentary about Partners in Health! The first part of this film discusses efforts against tuberculosis, and the second part shows the founding and impact of PEPFAR, the U.S.'s decades-long effort to distribute ART therapy, which had been one of the key programs that turned the tide of the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
This documentary has everything!

--Learn about Vlogbrothers' hero Paul Farmer and the founding of Partners in Health
--See a younger, fresher Anthony Fauci
--Boo at Andrew Natsios for saying Africans can't use clocks
--Bask in nostalgia for a time when even a Republican president put global health concerns front and center
This film was assigned viewing for my Problems in Global Health class this past fall, and I have been itching to share it since, especially since the systemic assault on global health funding began this January. But, better late than never.
