Hello! Welcome to the Seattle Gongfu Tea Meetup group. The aim of this group is to experience tea as a community through gongfu cha brewing, sharing a curiosity for tea, and being mindful and present together. Folks are welcome whether you are new or more experienced in gongfu style brewing! Meetups are monthly unless otherwise scheduled.

I don't consider myself an expert, but I have a love for all things tea, but especially Chinese tea and teaware, and want a space for others to share and grow their interest in tea. Let's hang out and create a third space to share some tea together!

To make the best of our meetups and continue improving:

We would love folks to volunteer to brew tea. We can rotate brewers if you don’t want to brew the whole time or if more people are interested in brewing. If you are bringing tea and would like to brew it yourself, you can swap in. If you can, please bring a gaiwan, fairness cup, filter, and/or comparable teaware.

To make things a little bit more organized, we will limit the number of brews going at one time to 3, depending on the number of people.

If you don’t know how to brew this style, we are happy to show you!

Bring your own drinking cup if possible (paper cups tend to get swapped/lost).
