Hello, Gongfu tea community!

It has been about 1 year since this group has started drinking tea together. As a way to celebrate and to also embrace the summer, let's take it outside again! We will be meeting at the Gasworks Park on Saturday, July 18th. Exact location at the park will be updated closer to the event.

This meetup is meant to be a social celebration of gongfu cha and the joy of tea, while giving everyone a chance to learn, practice, connect, and get to know our wonderful community.

To make this event a little more special, we'll also be having a tea ware sale, and providing some other extra treats!

About Our Gatherings:
These meetups are intended to be social with celebrating gongfu cha and the wonder of teas! If you’re interested in more intentional tea practice, we will also be having smaller gatherings designed to be more intentional and present with tea. This includes practicing techniques, tools, special teas, and more mindful brewing. Don't hesistate to ask either event host for more information on smaller meetups if you are interested!
Anyone is welcome to join the smaller gatherings after attending at least one of the public events like this one!

How You Can Participate:

  • We welcome helping hands! There are always ways to help this event run more smoothly, including helping with brewing tea, providing and heating up water, bringing snacks, and plenty of other ways. We would appreciate any form of support. So please let us know if you're interested in helping out!.
  • Bringing tea or tea ware is appreciated but not required. If you have something you’d love to share, wonderful — if not, simply bring yourself.
  • Bring your own tea cup! It helps us keep things organized since paper cups tend to get mixed up or misplaced. Also, if you plan to brew, it'd be really helpful to bring a tea tray if you have one.
  • Bring a blanket or chair since this will be a picnic at Gasworks Park.
  • We strongly recommend eating before attending as tea on an empty stomach can cause stomach upset!

And as always, we’re all here to learn together. If you’re unfamiliar with gongfu cha brewing, we’re happy to teach — and we’d love to learn from others as well!

Please reach out with any questions.
