Join me for a classic North Cascades hike to Lake Ann! This trail offers iconic and breathtaking views showcasing the dramatic north face of Mt. Shuksan. We'll hike through forests and meadows to a stunning alpine lake perfectly positioned in a rocky basin for a truly spectacular alpine experience.

- Trailhead: Lake Ann Trailhead (Mt. Baker Highway)
- Distance: ~8.5 miles roundtrip
- Elevation Gain: ~2,047 ft
- Highest Elevation: ~4,979 ft
- Difficulty: Moderate (with steady climb and some rocky sections)

- Permit Required: Northwest Forest Pass or America the Beautiful Interagency Pass.

- Road Note: The trailhead is accessed via paved Mt. Baker Highway (SR-542). The road is in good condition.

- Carpool Meet: Green Lake Park & Ride (NE 65th St & I-5) - 6:00 AM
- Pit Stop: Safeway - 315 E College Way, Mount Vernon, WA 98273 (for coffee & breakfast)
- Fuel Reimbursement: Please help your driver with gas and wear-and-tear.
- $25 for three riders
- $35 for two riders

Proposed Timeline:
- 6:00 AM β Meet at Green Lake P&R
- 6:15 AM β Depart for trailhead
- ~7:30 AM β Pit Stop at Mt. Vernon Safeway
- ~9:15 AM β Arrive at Lake Ann Trailhead
- 9:30 AM β Begin hike
- 12:00 PM β Lunch at the lake (approx. 45 mins) - Enjoy the views!
- 2:30 PM β Back to trailhead
- ~5:00 PM β Return to Green Lake P&R (Later if stopping for dinner on the way)

- Essentials: Plenty of water (2L+ recommended), high-energy snacks, lunch
- Footwear: Sturdy hiking boots or shoes with good traction.
