Scheduling Saturday this week to avoid rain. This weekend we will go around the Burroughs Mountain Loop in the Sunrise section of Mt. Rainier. We'll start clockwise around the loop down the Sunrise Rim Trail to see Shadow Lake and Sunrise Camp, head up to the second burroughs, continue on to the third burroughs, and do the other side of the loop near Frozen Lake and along the Sourdough Ridge trail.

We'll be making friends, staying fit, being polite and having fun!

We will first meet at the south lot of the Green Lake Park and Ride. Carpooling from there is encouraged but you are also welcome to meet us at Sunrise Rim Trail Trailhead (46.931, -121.645).

Hike Info
Difficulty: Hard
Length: ~9-10 miles
Elevation Gain: ~2600 feet
Highest Elevation: ~7800 feet
Location: NE of Mt. Rainier (Sunrise section)

Currently there's no rain forecasted for when we're going to be on the trail, and most of the wildfire smoke is expected to blow out of western Washington between now and Saturday. If conditions change this hike may be moved or cancelled. See the AllTrails weather map and WA Smoke Blog for more info.

Parking/Entrance Permit
America the Beautiful Pass

Attendance
We try to keep our group size to around a dozen as a courtesy to other hikers on the trail, and to reduce crowds and cars in the parking lot. The Going list may have a larger number to accommodate no-shows.

Folks on the Wait list may not attend until they are moved to the Going list. When folks drop from the Going list, people are added from the Wait list.

Carpooling
We will limit total attendees while drivers are selected from the Wait list. Drivers will be placed first as Going, and then we will fill with passengers as space allows, so everyone who comes to the P&R has a ride to the trail.

Riders MUST reimburse drivers for gas. Reimburse a minimum of $60 if one passenger, $35 for two passengers, and $25 for three passengers. Cash, Venmo, or Zelle.
