Lusty Lou Graham is rivaled only by Mother Damnable for being rightful claimant to the title of Seattle's most notorious Madam. The photographically elusive Lou is reputed to be the one farthest to the left in the photo. She benefited from urban legend and great PR-most of it untrue-she was never the largest contributor to the Seattle Public Schools prior to Bill Gates. In reality she was a greedy exploiter of her own sex who died an untimely death. But it is true that for many years her wealthiest and most influential patrons conducted some of Seattle's biggest business deals within the confines of her posh post-fire whore house on Washington Street. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lou_Graham_(Seattle_madam)

The Southwest Seattle Historical Society is giving an online presentation about Lou and her contemporaries on November 13th, at 6PM. You must register at the link below in order to attend:

It is worth noting that the same day as the SWSHS Seattle sex workers presentation, Nov. 13th, also happens to be the 174th anniversary of the good ship Exact's putting ashore the Denny Party at Alki Beach, thereby founding Seattle.
