We had a great turnout for our January event, and will meet again on February 15th, 4:00-6:30 p.m. at the amazing Seattle Collective, in South Lake Union.

According to Steve Jobs, “Innovation is the only way to win”, yet few people understand what it is, and even fewer have been trained on how to accomplish it. That's why 96% of innovation projects fail!

To overcome this, Day One Innovation is kicking off the Seattle Innovators meet-up events, to provide a unique opportunity for anyone who wants to advance their careers and businesses, by learning the best ways to innovate, from business practices to the latest technologies.

Presented by Trent Gillespie, Chief Innovation Officer of Day One Innovation, each meeting will have three parts, as outlined below for the February meeting:

  1. A short presentation on a fundamental innovation concept. FEBRUARY TOPIC: IDEATION (how to identify good ideas)
  2. 5-minute Lightning Talk on the Google Rapid Design process (presenter Mack Reed)
  3. Small group breakout discussions on challenges to innovation and technology, grouped by start-ups or established companies.

This is intended be a highly-interactive, engaging event series, where attendees can learn new concepts, meet new people, and get immediate value from their attendance.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND? This group is for anyone who is passionate about innovation, or wants to learn how to be better at it! That means you seek out better ways to create value, identify and launch new business models and new technologies, improve existing organizations, or generally just want to meet cool people and talk about cool stuff!

This event is no cost, but registration is required and limited to ensure we can fit in the space. Food and drinks available for purchase.

The planned schedule is below (subject to change):
4:00: Doors Open & Networking
5:00: Welcome & Introduction, Lightning Talk & Q&A
5:30: Group & Break Out Sessions on Innovation Challenges
~6:15: Move to the bar to continue discussion, or go home!

Parking available for a fee in the building or on the street.
