Parking/Restroom Information: Located just three miles southeast of Snoqualmie Pass along the south side of I-90, take the Hyak exit to the boat launch & parking area on the south side of the reservoir. We will launch at the Hyak parking/boat launch so you will have to have a National Forest pass or buy one at the boat launch, $5 per day fee. The Discovery pass or a WDFW is not valid right at the boat launch.
Camping Info: We will paddle about 1-1.5 miles to the mouth of Cold Creek and then hike about 200 meters to the campsite that is next to the Iron Horse trail.
If you want you can even bring your bike and ride or hike the trail. It is only a mile hike down the trail back to the cars to grab your bike and anything else you may want to bring.
I will help you get launched and then ride my bicycle to your landing point.
Carpool: You can carpool with me from mountlake Terrace or from Kenmore of from the transit center in Redmond.

SK Rating http://students.washington.edu/ukc/seakayaking/sea_rating.php I am rating this a class 1-2 paddle. It should be a pretty easy paddle over to the campsite that day and back on Monday. If the wind comes up it can be challenging but we can just skirt the the coast. There is some really nice kayaking during the day if you don't want to fish.
Equipment Requirements: Kayak, paddle, pfd, paddlefloat, pump, sprayskirt, headlamp, charts, navigation gear (compass/gps/??)vhf radio.
As far as gear, you want to bring typical backpacking stuff, sleeping bag, tent (your own or share with a friend), pad, a dry bag for your sleeping bag and clothes, toiletries, a change of clothes, a bowl, a plate, a cup, and your cook gear. I will be bringing the big tarp in case we have a little rain over the weekend.
NO WATER available at the site so bring your own water for the weekend or a water filter to pump water from the creek. I will have my water filter.
