Meet @ 11:00 AM, launch @ 11:30 AM. If you need more time to unload, please arrive earlier, these times are set with the tides. We will do a relaxing paddle around the Nisqually Wildlife Refuge and into McAllister Creek exploring the shorelines and wildlife.
We can head up to my house after the paddle ( 1 minute from boat ramp) to share snacks and drinks, please bring a something to share.
Because this is a open water, for your safety and the safety of the group-
required equipment for this events is;
At least 1 year paddling experience, be comfortable on open water, know paddle strokes and have all of the correct paddling equipment.
Kayak- kayaks MUST have sealed bulkheads or flotation bags,
** Minimum 14' long.
Paddle-
PFD -No PFD, no paddling with us.
Whistle
*Spare set of dry clothes/towel "with you in your kayak".
Dry Bag for your dry clothes/snacks/gear.
Plenty of Water
Wear quick drying clothes, spandex,nylon etc. * no cotton, no jeans- dress for the water temperature which is usually in the 50/60s.
* Disover Pass for parking in lot, or parking along the road without one.
