Title:
Past, Present, and Future of Apache Mesos and its Community
Abstract:
Since becoming a top-level project in the Apache Software Foundation in 2013, the Mesos project and community has taken off with tremendous growth. This talk will provide an overview of where the project is today, where it came from, and where it's going. By the end of this talk, you'll have learned:
-
Mesos essentials, including its role as a kernel of the datacenter OS, basic architecture, and key concepts.
-
A report back from #MesosCon, the first-ever Mesos conference that took place in Chicago in August. This will include an overview of the multiple frameworks and Mesos use cases that were presented.
-
The state of the Mesos community, where there has been growth and excitement in the past year, where there is ongoing work, and how you can get involved in the project.
This will provide an introduction and overview, along with resources to learn more. It should also serve as a primer for topics that will likely be further explored in future meetups by the newly-created Seattle Mesos User Group.
