Title: Enabling distributed system development with Kubernetes

Abstract: As containers have taken over the packaging and deployment of software, there has naturally been a rise in cluster management systems to handle cluster level application deployment and maintenance. I will give an overview of the Google Kubernetes open source cluster management system and how it moves beyond simply scheduling work onto nodes and attempts to become an infrastructure and library for making the development of distributed systems reliable, scalable distributed systems easier.

Title: Running Kubernetes at Scale with the Mesosphere DCOS

Abstract: In this talk we will present Kubernetes-on-Mesos an open source project running Kubernetes applications in a highly elastic fault tolerant way at scale on any cloud or private datacenter. Kubernetes-on-Mesos was born out of a collaboration between Google and Mesosphere. We will present a quick introduction to Apache Mesos and the Mesosphere DCOS) that Mesosphere has built around Apache Mesos. We will provide a technical overview how Kubernetes runs on Mesos and how it can run along side other Mesos frameworks like Hadoop, Spark, and Casandra on the same cluster. There will be a live demonstration of the Mesosphere DCOS running a wide range of workloads including Kubernetes applications.
