Corn Maze & Bonfire At Night!

Details

NOTE: I'm also trying out something new this year! We have a Discord community with a channel called "10-3-corn-maze" to help people find the group, coordinate carpools or recover lost items!

https://discord.gg/S7rn3SAk

NOTE: I have spent $164 on a fire pit reservation and plan to spend another $40 or so on supplies for s'mores. Please be sure to venmo or zelle me $3 to $5 during/after the event so that we can keep these events going! This is probably going to be a bit more than the cost per person since many people forget to pay. My Venmo handle is @andrew-davidson-26 and my last four digits are 2150. Alternatively, you can zelle me at 314-898-2150. Please keep in mind that you will still need to buy an entry ticket to the corn maze on your own, separate from this.

Join us at Bob's Corn Maze to get in the fall spirit! For those who have never been to a corn maze, you need to try it out! And bring your friends! It's a fall tradition, and it's a waaay better vibe at night! For those who are interested, we'll be grabbing drinks in Seattle afterwards!

I've reserved a fire pit halfway through the maze for us to have a bonfire and make s'mores. We did this last year and it was a real hoot!

It gets cold at night and, well, we're walking through a giant corn field! Bring more layers than you think you'll need and DON'T WEAR YOUR NICE SHOES!

We should arrive back in Seattle around 11:30 or midnight. For those who are interested, we'd have time for a round of drinks or two before the bars close!

Tickets / entry to the maze :

I called Bob's Corn and checked, and they said that you can buy tickets at the door or in-person, but I was told that they are apparently $5 cheaper online. I just bought mine and it was $25.75 (including taxes and fees). Unlike previous years, there is no cap on the number of tickets that they will sell for a given time slot, so you DON'T NEED to buy them in advance or worry that they will fill up/run out of tickets.

Please make sure that you select "Night Maze Admission" from within "Farm Admission" but not "Fall Festival". Select Friday October 3rd for 7, 7:30, or 8 pm, the exact time shouldn't matter.

Everything below relates to carpooling:

Bob's Corn Maze is located 30 to 45 minutes northeast of downtown Seattle in Snohomish Valley. It is somewhat far away, so let's carpool!

Let's meet at Art Marble 21 in Seattle at 6 PM and plan to split into our carpools and leave at around 6:30, arriving at the corn maze around 7:15 or 7:30. There is ample parking in the long narrow parking lot starting north of Art Marble along the lake.

Cell reception is usually pretty bad at the corn maze, so I highly recommend meeting us at Art Marble in Seattle for the carpool, especially if you haven't already been to one of our meetups before. People who drive themselves often arrive earlier or later than us, don't recognize us, go to the wrong place, and/or get stressed out. Just in case, I'll post what I'm wearing and will plan on meeting folks outside the gift shop. Look for the large group or ask for Andrew Davidson.

Please coordinate carpools in the comments or better yet, the discord or google doc!

Please post/comment/message if you can drive or if you need a ride!

Riders are expected to (at a bare minimum) split the cost of gas evenly between the driver and the other passengers, as well as a reasonable amount for projected wear and tear on the vehicle.

Sometimes if we have a large number of RSVPs, the carpool comments get a bit messy. In that case, for those who are concerned, we have never had a meetup where we didn't have enough seats, so if you show up to Art Marble on the day of the event, we can probably find a seat for you. Usually, other people are willing to drive but forget to post before the event.

If you are going to arrange your carpool to meet somewhere OTHER THAN Art Marble, I suggest a park and ride such as Greenlake, Northgate, Eastgate, or Tukwila/SouthCenter. Passengers, please do not ask to be picked up at your home; drivers, please don't offer to do so. It usually creates problems and makes the timing and logistics much more complicated, since people often aren't ready on time, cancel last minute, or just plain don't show up. On the other hand, dropping people off at their home after the event is much easier.
