Consumer and Global Health on FHIR

Details

PhD students Hannah Burkhardt and Piotr Mankowski, will be presenting their research projects that leverage FHIR to address consumer health and global health needs.

Hannah's research involves developing a FHIR-based mobile consumer health application to support at-home treatment plans. Piotr's project is attempting to leverage FHIR to address a number of different use-cases important for global health, including transfer of care, shared health records, interoperability with lab systems, and report generation. This project is specific to an OpenMRS implementation in Haiti, but we're forging a wide collaboration with the global OpenMRS community.

Bill Lober and Maggie Dorr will introduce an exciting new Washington DOH-supported project that will attempt to research, develop, and demonstrate a PDMP FHIR module to use with the State's HIE.

Finally, we'll do a quick recap of the recent Epic App Orchard conference, and talk about plans for future Seattle on FHIR events.

See everyone there!
