Pull up a chair and a notebook, tablet, or laptop, and write! Every other week we're going to use our 7pm Wednesday CIP reservation as a writing session. We'll probably take some time at the end to share from among what was produced.

As always, the Proton Drive can be used to exchange documents digitally.

Seattle Poetry Meetup is a proud founding member of the Western Washington Poets Network - check out their database of open mics and critique groups in the area.

VENUE

We'll be at the College Inn Pub in the U District. We've reserved the Snug Room—it's easy to find; ask at the bar for the Seattle Poetry Meetup and they should be able to point you in the right direction.

TRANSIT

The College Inn Pub is close to UW campus bus lines, light rail, and cycle routes:

  • Link Light Rail 1-Line (U District Station)
  • Bus: 44 from Ballard
  • Bus: 45 from Golden Gardens Park, Green Lake
  • Bus: 67 from Northgate, Roosevelt
  • Bus: many other routes stop at U District Station a few blocks north; also the closer stop at 15th Ave NE & NE Campus Parkway.
  • Cycling: Burke-Gilman Trail passes a few blocks south of the College Inn Pub; bike lanes on University Way and Brooklyn Ave provide protected passage north/south from the trail.

PARKING

There are various PayByPhone parking areas in the surrounding blocks, free after 8pm so you only need to pay for an hour. See also the College Inn's parking page: https://www.collegeinnseattle.com/parking

COVID

Neither the venue nor the group require anything special; wear a mask if you desire, be as vaccinated as you like, and take the chances you feel comfortable with!

PROTON DRIVE

We're using Proton Drive to share files---no account required. Click here to access: https://drive.proton.me/urls/05PJ0BMSSW#es3lBdtVcr3y

Click "+New" and then "Upload File" to upload an existing file, or "+New" and then "New Document" to create a new document from scratch.

It's helpful if people organize files for particular event into their own folder with format YYYY-MM-DD for example "2025-09-16" for the September 16th, 2025 meetup.

Files left on the drive will be moved offline to the long-term SPM Archive after a month. If you don't want this, delete your files after the meetup.
