PostgreSQL Community Introspective

The latest and greatest version of PostgreSQL, due out in the early fall of 2024, is PostgreSQL 17. This talk will start off with a bit of history of the community, a description of the development process including some metrics trends, and an overview of the ways that people contribute. It will then cover a sampling of new features which will be part of PostgreSQL 17, and prognosticate a bit about the future of PostgreSQL.
