Daggerheart Open Game - The Blackened Book
Details
Quorum: 4 players + GM. Before you RSVP - Read all of the instructions below (click ‘read more’ on meetup). Make sure you confirm with me on discord that you will be attending or you may be moved to ‘not going.’
New players welcome! This is an open game of episodic Daggerheart adventures in the Eberron setting. Each session is designed to be a standalone story, so you can drop in and out freely - no previous attendance or experience is required.
For returning players, you'll be working for the same faction in each session, so you can return with the same character and build on your progression from previous games - and accumulate more loot!
# The Pitch
Notes: dystopian, magical mystery, secret organization, elite unit
A troll stalks her prey through the dark alleys of the Dura underground, goading her victim toward the waiting basilisk. In the morning, a new statue adorns the steps of the courthouse - a spitting image of the witness who was meant to give testimony against the monstrous crime syndicate known as Daask.
A guardsman strikes a deal with a rakshasa in an upper city bordello. Tonight, a cult leader jailed on suspicion of murder will find his cell door unlocked. Tomorrow the guardsman will remember nothing.
In the confession booth of Church of the Silver flame, a sobbing young university student tells the priest of the dream - the one where her body twists into a mass of teeth and eyes and she wakes up in the hall outside her professor’s room. On his way home after locking up the church, the priest passes a poster for the missing professor.
Sharn Watch is too corrupt and spread too thin to contend with the glut of magic crimes occurring in the city, much less the innumerable arcane entities gnawing at the edges of reality. In their absence, a new breed of heroes is needed to save the city from doom - heroes with a talent for dealing with the supernatural and a willingness to operate outside the law. In these episodic adventures, you will work as an agent investigating the unexplained phenomena of Sharn, and recording their mysteries in the strange artifact known as The Blackened Book.
Full game details, including character creation instructions can be found in the Google doc.

- Join the Seattle RPG Variety Society discord server and say hi in the #raygun-general channel. This is where we will communicate about the game before the session.
- Request access to demiplane content sharing. Post a message in the discord channel to let me (@Jesse) know you need access.
- Make a level 1 character in demiplane and let me know when you are done.
