Narrative Games NW - December meetup
Details
Narrative Games NW Night is a recurring tabletop RPG night hosted at Phoenix Comics & Games on Capitol Hill, running on the 3rd Monday of every month. The upcoming session is Monday, December 15th, with a 6:00pm start time (there’s typically a ~15-minute grace period before play begins).
This is a show-up-and-play event. There’s no prep, no campaign commitment, and no expectation of prior experience.
What This Night Is About
This event focuses on rules-light, narrative-driven indie RPGs. These games are designed to tell a complete story in a single evening through collaborative play. Tables usually run 3–5 players, and the organizer helps form groups based on interest.
Rather than combat-heavy mechanics or character optimization, these games emphasize:
- Shared storytelling
- Character-driven choices
- Creative improvisation
- Exploring interesting situations and consequences
Commonly played games include:
- Fiasco – chaotic, character-focused stories where plans go wrong
- Microscope – collaboratively building and exploring a shared history
- Kingdom – examining the tensions that lead to the rise or fall of a society
No materials are required from players. The organizer brings the games, and people pitch different what they want to play.

You don’t need acting experience, rules mastery, or improv training—just a willingness to engage and contribute ideas.
