Shadowrun Anarchy 2.0

The year is 2084. Our world is ruled by ruthless megacorps who have succeeded in turning what’s left of nation-states into their puppets. In what is known as the Sixth World, magic has returned and exists alongside technological advancements such as cybernetic implants and the ubiquitous information network that is the Matrix. Living alongside humans are orks, elves, trolls, and dwarfs; each of them trying to scrape by in high-tech yet poverty-stricken sprawls. And yeah, we have dragons too.

SHADOWRUN ANARCHY 2.0 focuses on freelance operatives, known as Shadowrunners, hired to do the corps’ dirty work, all the while maintaining plausible deniability for their employer. Some of those shadowrunners are just in it for the money, some do it for the kicks, while others are neo-anarchist idealists who still hope to stick it to the man.

Will you turn into a cybered killing machine with the moral code of a street samurai? Manipulate the flow of mana to bend it to your will and sling spells as a mage? Scour the Matrix to hack your opponents as a decker? Or provide surveillance and fire support for your team with powerful drone swarms as a rigger? Shadowrunners live on the edge. But if you wanna do more than survive the corps, and become a legend, you’re going to have to be bold, take risks … and accept the consequences.

What you need to know

1. Message @woundedspider (Jesse) on discord. I recommend you join the Seattle RPG Variety Society discord server. If I don't hear from you on discord within 24 hours of RSVPing, you may be moved to "not going".
2. This narrative-focused version of Shadowrun is in early release. As such you won't find many resources online for it. However if you are curious, you will find a lot of similarities to Shadowrun Anarchy 1, 5e, and 6e.
3. We will be playing with pre-gen characters that I will share at the table, as well as rules handouts. If you want to pick a pre-gen ahead of time, you will be able to find them on the discord server linked above.
4. After selecting characters, we will go over the game rules, then run a short mission. We're all new to this so we'll take it slow.
5. Bring a pen/pencil and paper for taking notes.

Table Rules

1. Content Warning, 18+: Fantasy violence, drug use, food and housing insecurity, elves.
2. You and your fellow players are part of a team. Do your best to ensure everyone at the table has a good time.
3. Your character and your fellow player’s characters are part of a team. Make a character that wants the team to win.
4. Make an original, in-universe character. No joke characters, punny names, or references to existing media or historical figures.
5. We will use the X-Card Safety Tool to ensure the wellbeing of everyone at the table.
6. This is a pro-LGBTQ+ table.
