[Penumbra City] Good Friends, Bad Manors
Details
The current war is going badly for Athe, who rules
a country of the same name from the Silver, a marvel-
ous city that floats above Penumbra City. His church is
losing its grip: food is scarce, disease is rampant, and
the revolutionary factions of the city are gaining control
of new territory every day.
Meanwhile, life continues. Jazz clubs are open all
night and workers and vagrants both gather in the eve-
nings at bars to listen to music and theater transmit-
ted by that new invention, the radio. Smugglers bring food
and weapons across blockades by steamship and
airship alike.
Step pyramids house ancient thinking
machines that ponder the universe. Mycomancers find divinity
and communion in fungus, occultists walk the Ether,
ornithopters buzz overhead, and soldiers
head to the front on trains to drive steam-powered tanks towards
the trenches of Hirn, Athe’s neighbor and enemy, who
fights with vivisected, half-human soldiers.
This is a open-table campaign for Penumbra City, a Dieselpunk game set in early-twentieth century political upheaval about community alliances, artist-insurgents, and divine authoritarianism. Every class has both combat and non-combat abilities, and PCs rely on the relationships they have with factions to get equipment instead of currency.
This game will be beginner-friendly, players only need to bring pencils and dice.
Pregenerated characters will be provided for the first session. In future sessions, I'll allow for custom characters to be submitted.
The event will be hosted in a rented private conference room, Players may bring their own food/beverage but are expected to be respectful of the space and clean up after themselves.
Feel free to sign-up even if it puts you on the Waitlist, in my expierence there's usually two or three people who drop-out before the start of the event, usually at the eleventh-hour, and I prefer to have a full table over empty slots.
If you need to cancel your RSVP within 90 minutes before Start Time or are going to be running late, message me over Discord.
