Lo! ’t is a gala night
Within the lonesome latter years!
An angel throng, bewinged, bedight
In veils, and drowned in tears,
Sit in a theatre, to see
A play of hopes and fears,
While the orchestra breathes fitfully
The music of the spheres.
Mimes, in the form of God on high,
Mutter and mumble low,
And hither and thither fly—
Mere puppets they, who come and go
At bidding of vast formless things
That shift the scenery to and fro,
Flapping from out their Condor wings
Invisible Wo!
That motley drama—oh, be sure
It shall not be forgot!
With its Phantom chased for evermor
By a crowd that seize it not,
Through a circle that ever returneth i
To the self-same spot,
And much of Madness, and more of Sin,
And Horror the soul of the plot.
But see, amid the mimic rout,
A crawling shape intrude
A blood-red thing that writhes from out
The scenic solitude!
It writhes!—it writhes!—with mortal pangs
The mimes become its food
And seraphs sob at vermin fangs
In human gore imbued.
Out—out are the lights—out all
And, over each quivering form,
The curtain, a funeral pall,
Comes down with the rush of a storm
While the angels, all pallid and wan,
Uprising, unveiling, affir
That the play is the tragedy, “Man,”
And its hero, the Conqueror Worm.
This event is the climatic One-Shot Scenario for Delta Green, a game where you play as agents of a clandestine government agency dedicated to investigating and fighting Lovecraftian threats barely within human comprehension. (it is very tonally and mechanically similar to Call of Cthulhu)
This session will serve as the Grand Finale to the Campaign.
This game will be beginner-friendly, players only need to bring pencils and dice.
Pregenerated characters will be provided, however, if you want to play your own custom character, send a copy of your character sheet to me for review before Noon on the Friday of April 17
If you've played in one of my previous Delta Green games, returning players are encouraged to bring your previous character to this event (but not a requirement), if you lost your copy of of your character sheet, message me on here or Discord and I'll send you a new one.
The event will be hosted in a rented private conference room, Players may bring their own food/beverage but are expected to be respectful of the space and clean up after themselves.
Feel free to sign-up even if it puts you on the Waitlist, in my expierence there's usually two or three people who drop-out before the start of the event, usually at the eleventh-hour, and I prefer to have a full table over empty slots.
If you need to cancel your RSVP within 90 minutes before Start Time or are going to be running late, message me over Discord.
