The old world was shattered by war, and we rebuilt it into something better. It has been 20 years since the end of the Banner War, an international fascist uprising turned balkanized free-for-all that destroyed functioning statehood, criminalized mages, and accelerated ecological collapse that nearly ended the world. The war was won by the people. Specifically, the people with the willingness to provide for others indiscriminately in a time of little abundance. It is this ethos that formed the spine of the era you find yourselves in. You are the fruit of yesterday's struggle, the sunrise a thousand radicals fought for knowing they'd never see. Born too late to be the cleanup crew, born too early to enjoy fully-automated luxury. It is up to you to make the hard choices.

The Witches who were once magic's eager caretakers now find themselves it's reluctant sovereigns. The traumatized and marginalized being turned undead by their own minds, the dragons in human disguise, and all the fears, shames, and passions that rhyme with the ones that started the War. But you have not just support, but a mandate from the people build the bridge to the next utopia. Your gifts and burdens equally are your tools.

This is a one-shot for Ironsworn and Ironsworn: Starforged for my homebrew setting. Ironsworn is Powered by the Apocalypse with ability scores, a unique three-dice action roll system, and a mechanic that allows Players to diagetically choose their own quests. Starforged is a standalone Sci-Fi follow-up that adds Legacy tracks and new Assets that will form the basis of this hybrid system. We will use a combination of Moves and mechanics from each game to tell the story of young adults living in an eco-utopian version of the 2010s.

This game will be beginner-friendly, players only need to bring pencils and dice.

Pregenerated characters will be provided, however, if you want to play your own custom character, send a copy of your character sheet to me for review before Noon on the Friday of May 8th

Every PC will start with 4 Assets from either system. However, I will be banning some assets from being selected at character creation for thematic and narrative reasons. Command Vehicles and their Modules because vehicles that large can't be privately owned.

Assets that grant at-will magic like Firebrand, Kinetic, Seer, Ritual Assets, or the Young Wyvern Companion go against the setting's magic system. Assets like Empowered, Devoted, Fortune Hunter, and Commander which go against the political and ethical system of the setting. Combat and weapon-based Assets aren't banned but may be less useful in this setting. If you are building a custom character and really want to use a banned asset, message me to see if we can make a more grounded version or give your character a disadvantage in exchange.

The event will be hosted in a rented private conference room, Players may bring their own food/beverage but are expected to be respectful of the space and clean up after themselves.

Feel free to sign-up even if it puts you on the Waitlist, in my expierence there's usually two or three people who drop-out before the start of the event, usually at the eleventh-hour, and I prefer to have a full table over empty slots.

If you need to cancel your RSVP within 36 hours before Start Time or are going to be running late, message me over Discord.

This module contains Mature content, Player discretion is advised. All Players, including Guests, must be 18+

Safety Tools: X-Card

Content Warning: this setting contains themes of generational trauma, warfare, death, blood, authoritarianism, body horror, spiritual abuse, political violence, and mind control.

I promise this is a chill escapist setting, but the above themes are integral to the history and narrative of the setting, and will probably get mentioned during play.
