Discuss Scala Akka and Related Technologies

The talk this month will be on Scoobi by Eric Springer.

Scoobi is a scala library to make writing Hadoop MapReduce applications far more productive. I'll give a world-wind tour of Hadoop, then dive into how you use Scoobi to write "big data" applications, and finally give a peak under the hood and walk through some of the interesting Scala features it uses.

This month we will be meeting in the new MTN offices near Pike Place Market. Lee Chang, the co-organizer of this group, works at MTN. MTN has provided food and drink for past meetups and will be doing so again this month.

As always we are looking for people to give talks at future meetups.
