Session

Spark at eBay is still in it's infancy, but we're making great headway in a number of teams.

The first section will cover the eBay use cases and how we're trying to tackle problems with Spark. You’ll learn about the high level issues that eBay is trying to use Spark to solve problems with, as well as some interesting use cases where Spark is uniquely suited for.

The second part of the discussion will be a deep dive into troubleshooting Spark and what kinds of problems you can run into at scale. Tuning Spark can be a challenge at scale and there will be specific hint regarding what options can be tuned to get better performance. There will also be insights into running Shark on Spark.

Experience with Spark and Shark is not necessary, but will help you get the most out of the second session.
