About us
Seattle Stair Walkers is a group that promotes a healthy lifestyle by exploring the nooks and crannies of Seattle. We basically follow the stair routes that were originally published by the University of Washington. There are a total of 30 routes totaling 100miles and 26,000 steps. I personally have walked all the routes and discovered amazing things in our beautiful community, little gnome villages, forest escapes within the urban atmosphere, amazing views, things you don’t notice wheeling by at the usual 40 mph. There are easy routes and some challenging ones too. Hope to see you at a Meet-Up.
ALL EVENTS ARE $5/event UNLESS YOUR A YEARLY MEMBER.
YEARLY MEMBERSHIPS ARE $60/YEAR AND INCLUDE UNLIMITED EVENTS AND INVITES TO OUT-OF-TOWN EVENTS.
Addendum:
We now have a Lighthouse Series where we visit lighthouses around the Puget Sound area and hike the trails around them.
We also have a Garden Series that walks the numerous gardens around the Puget Sound area, ranging from Olympia to Everett, Bellevue to Bainbridge.

THIS IS A MUST-NOT-MISS walk. My very favorite and a little tiny park on the walk has THE BEST VIEW OF SEATTLE (the pic above is NOT 'the' view). Gorgeous architecture and amazing view, plus lots of "secret" stairsThis 4 mile loop goes up and down the most beautiful stairs in Seattle, past lovely homes, and great views over downtown, Puget Sound, Mt. Rainier and the Olympics. Some of these stairs were built a century ago.
Please use a map-tracking app (Strava/Apple Fitness, etc...) to verify your route and time.

Come join us as we explore upper Magnolia and the lower Ballard area.

Leaving the preserve, we will explore the fish ladders at the Chittenden locks. There should be some good fish viewing as the salmon run is in full swing. Departing the locks we will enjoy the Carl S. English Jr. Botanical Garden.
Afterwards, we will visit a few of the many wonderful free exchanges in Ballard. (feel free to bring a toy or craft to donate to the cause)⤵️ Route:
