Ceph on ARM64 with Phil Straw from SoftIron

Details

In 2012, SoftIron set out to build low powered ARM based servers. In 2017, SoftIron launched HyperDrive, a dedicated Ceph Appliance built around AMD's ARM64 SoC "Seattle." Immediately we saw performance above and beyond dual socketed Xeon servers. In this presentation Phil goes over what we learned, and gets into the performance of Ceph on ARM.

Phil Straw is the CTO of SoftIron, the Silicon Valley company behind HyperDrive - a dedicated Ceph Appliance. Previously he has held senior technical roles with Securify, Delphi Electronics, 3Com and Cisco.
