What we’re about
Hi. My name is John Draper. I've been a professional writer for more than 30 years, the first seven in newspapers -- back when newspapers were made out of paper. Google it if you don't believe me. I had an idea for a group based on my experience with other writing groups I've been part of. In my experience, Meetup writing groups are populated by people who don't know how to write. They're insurance agents and yw whathaveyou. Nice people, but they don't really know how to write. I would like to form a group comprised of current/former journalists who have written fiction or want to write fiction. Not too sure what the group would be "about." That is, we could work on our writing somehow, although I find group writing exercises silly. Writing is a solitary affair. Or we could just socialize. We can figure that out after we get together
