Trails of North Kirkland - Juanita Beach to O.O Denny Park

This is an 8-mile out-and-back hike (4 miles each way) between two beach parks in Kirkland - Juanita to O.O Denny Park.

We will begin at Juanita Beach Park in front of the restrooms (see map pin). We'll then walk through the neighborhood to Juanita Heights Park, cut through the park, then another sidewalk stretch to O.O. Denny Park, where we follow a one-mile forest trail down to the beach. We will have a group lunch at the beach (please bring food), then retrace our steps back to the start point for 8 miles total.

To reach the start point on the bus, take bus route 255 to 116th Ave., walk west a couple of blocks, then head towards the water. I will be taking the bus with the 9:42 scheduled arrival, so anyone on board that bus can walk with me from the bus stop to the meetup point.

Note: this hike includes two big hill climbs; one up through the neighborhood, headed to Juanita Heights Park going west, the other up the O.O. Denny Park trail going east.
