What we’re about
Ninety-nine percent of animals killed in the United States each year die to be eaten. This Meetup is for people interested in helping to end this atrocity by educating the general public (pre-vegans as an extreme optimist might say) about what goes on in factory farms, and how people can save animals simply by choosing not to eat them. There are many many opportunities to do this outreach....festivals, neighborhood art walks, colleges, music venues - the list goes on.
This group is for also getting together socially to support each other as we know if can be difficult sometimes to be that voice for compassion in a cruel world.
I will also post information about local demonstrations at stores that sell fur, animal research labs, and other events designed to let people know about atrocities that occur in their back yard.
Please also check out the Northwest Animal Rights Network (www.narn.org) for more information.
EVERYONE is welcome to join this group. You don't have to be vegan, you just have to at least be interested in going that direction.
Suggestions for venues and events are welcome as well. Just as long as they are vegan friendly.
