Make a measurable 1% national difference for the animals by putting in 20 minutes a month with The Humane League!

Come take send emails, post on social media, and fill out contact forms with us! We'll be continuing our existing campaigns against Jollibee, Land O'Lakes, and BJs.

Please bring a device you can use to send emails and post on social media (or let me know and I can bring one for you to borrow)

You may have noticed that in the past few years, cage-free eggs have started to become significantly more prevalent in stores. THL started campaigning in 2015, and since then cage-free eggs have gone from about 5% to about 30% today. That’s over 100 million hens per year that will not spend their lives confined to cages, about 1/3 of the US population.

But how? A few hundred THL volunteers have emailed, phoned and used social media to obtain commitments from US companies to migrate to cage free eggs. All it takes to be an “active volunteer” is to take 2 digital actions in the past 3 months. So would you say maybe 60 minutes over 3 months of work on average, or 20 minutes per month?

In a given month, the total number of active THL volunteers is in the 100-200 range, or 4 people per state on average. At that size, anyone who constantly shows up will make about a 1% difference nationally, or about 25% per state on average.

THL Seattle is committed to maintaining an inclusive and accessible community. We support people of all races, genders, sexualities, class backgrounds, and abilities in doing activism. You don’t even have to be vegetarian or vegan to participate in our activism - in fact, non-vegan folks may even be better activists in some circumstances.
Our action meetups are hosted at Distant Worlds Coffeehouse:
- The space is wheelchair accessible
- The space is located a few blocks from the Roosevelt Link station
- You do not have to buy food or drink to participate in the meetup - Distant Worlds Coffeehouse requires a minimum for the table reservation, which is covered by the organization.
- There is always an option to attend the meetup virtually
If you need any particular accommodations, please reach out to Zachary Segall over Facebook or at zsegall@changemaker.thehumaneleague.org
