This will be a FREE, WEEKLY, IN-PERSON active writing group based in the Amherst Writers and Artists method. It is a safe, critique-free space.

THIS WEEK ONLY: Bring books you've been dying to pass on for our annual book swap. Fiction, non-fiction, poetry, memoir — LEAVE THE HOW-TO BOOKS AT HOME.

WRITERS OF ALL LEVELS WELCOME. But PLEASE (pretty please!) only RSVP is you truly believe you can attend on any given Saturday so that I know the body count and can prepare accordingly ;-)

NOTE: When the facilitator is traveling, we move this meeting online, however this hybrid feature is not an ongoing aspect of our group.

PROCESS:
10:30 Welcome and crab coffee
10:40 Prompts given (use or don't use, up to you)
10:40 to 12:40 Writing
12:40 those who wish to experience the full AWA method are invited to read their JUST WRITTEN work aloud for encouraging response. No critiquing, no telling other writers what they "should, might, or could" do.

BRING:
—A mask: We put on masks if any participants request it or the county health department recommends it.
—A cushion or folding chair if you have one
—Breakfasty snacks to share
—Whatever you like to write on
—Ready encouragement for other writers

LEAVE AT HOME:
—Other writing. Sharing in this group is limited to he work just written created during our session
—Judgement of others writing
