How to Improve Passenger Rail Service in WA State?

Details
Description:
The Washington State Department of Transportation's (WSDOT’s) plans for Amtrak Cascades are not sufficiently robust. Pending WA state legislation (HB 1837, SB 5667) will help drive transformative improvements in trip speed, reliability, and frequency that make traveling by rail along this corridor more convenient, accessible, and competitive with other modes of travel. More reliable Amtrak Cascades service will provide a viable alternative to congestion on I-5, reduce highway wear and tear, lower emissions, and boost the economies of station communities. Passenger rail service improvements for east-west corridors are in the planning phase as well. Our next Meetup will discuss how to improve Passenger Rail Service in WA state.
