IoT Workshop: Hardware Prototyping and Automation Scripting

Details

Save the date! Admission by RSVP only. We'll close the RSVP 24 hours before the first workshop so don't forget to register!

This is a 3 session workshop (Nov. 5, Nov. 12, and Nov. 19) intended for anyone who wants to get started in DIY projects using Internet of Things technologies and practices.

The cost is $20 for a kit of IoT parts that you'll need to complete the workshop. The workshop itself is included in the cost of the kit. That's essentially $20 for a 3 week workshop. Kit details TBD.

The kit will include a microcontroller such as an ESP8266 and other parts needed to get started in IoT prototyping.

Join us for the foundational hardware and software IoT workshop. Familiarity with basic software engineering and a programming language is useful but not essential.

This workshop will introduce students to the foundational hardware and software practices and concepts.

We'll be using low-cost ESP8266 and ESP32 microcontrollers and breadboards. If you are interested in building your own IoT systems this is a great place to start.

We'll be using the Arduino IDE, so please bring a laptop with Arduino IDE installed. https://www.arduino.cc/en/Main/Software

We'll look forward to seeing you there!

Also, if you are a new member or haven't taken the survey yet I encourage you to let us know what topics you’re most interested in learning about here:
