Singapore is back, and never like before.

Marina Bay under the lights for Round 17, Oct 9-11 — and for the first time ever, it's a Sprint weekend. The 17th round of the season runs from Friday 9 to Sunday 11 October. It is a Sprint weekend – the first time Singapore has hosted one. 62 laps of the 4.927-kilometre Marina Bay Street Circuit on Sunday.

The toughest race of the year just got tougher: one practice, Sprint Qualifying, Sprint + Qualifying on Saturday, then the full 2-hour sauna at 8pm local under the floodlights.

Why this one is unmissable:

The sauna + the walls. 90% humidity, 30-degree night, zero runoff. The hardest physical race on the calendar meets the closest walls. Sprint means no time to dial it in.

Cadillac's wild week. After the chaos in Sepang, every point in the midfield matters — and Singapore always shuffles the order.

The Bottas Side Quest — you can't make this up.

While everyone else flew the 350km from KL, our favourite gravel convert went full Bottas:
Cadillac F1 driver Valtteri Bottas is pedalling to the Singapore Grand Prix from Malaysia after retiring from Sunday's Bahrain Grand Prix at the Sepang circuit and getting on his bike. A keen cyclist, the F1 veteran decided not to fly or drive the 350km distance but to get there under his own power instead.

He's decompressing from a disappointing DNF at Sunday's Grand Prix in Malaysia by cycling some 350km to his next race. On Sunday night, Bottas completed "Leg 1" of a multi-day adventure ride toward this coming weekend's Singapore Grand Prix — after he spun out on lap nine of a wet and wild race on the Sepang International Circuit.

Leg 1? Not long after stripping out of his overalls, Bottas clocked 56km in little more than two hours of night-time riding heading southeast toward Si Rusa, head torch on, posting gravel pics along the palm oil plantations.

From DNF in Sepang to border crossing by bike. Will he make media day on Thursday?
